VMAR Kitfox EP ARF Kit - Red (62" Wingspan)
VMAR Kitfox 64" Electric Kit - One Foxy Lady.
Instantly recognizable in the kit plane world, the "Denney Kitfox" took to the skies in 1984, offering the ultimate in kit plane functionality with folding wings for easy storage, rugged STOL capability, and the ability to be built by any handyman looking for his very own airplane that was easy to fly. Heavily revised over its lifespan, the Kitfox has proven itself with massive capability, making this aircraft a truly coveted design that is ready to take to the skies in epic kit form.
Beautifully modeled by VMAR, the Kitfox endears itself instantly, drawing from its true scale form with excellent STOL (Short Take Off and Landing) capability. With its instantly recognizable flaperon design that aids STOL capability, the VMAR Kitfox is beautiful from every angle, with nimble flight characteristics and an ultra wide flight envelope that is gentle and forgiving.
Dressed in vivid Polycote ECS covering with a robust balsa & ply construction, the Kitfox is an all electric affair, with a (4) channel layout for maximum control. Utilizing full span ailerons that are actuated by (1) servo per aileron for optimal levels of precision, the Kitfox offers nimble flight characteristics with a true scale flight envelope that is ready to thrill pilots young and old.
With scale details that include clear side windows, cabin seats and a detailed instrument cluster, VMAR went to great lengths in capturing the scale functionality of this uniquely beautiful plane. Furthering this true life detail, the Kitfox can be setup in tail dragger form or a tricycle gear layout, offering maximum levels of personal choice when setting up this aircraft for flight.
Capturing scale perfection with a beautiful aesthetic livery, the VMAR Kitfox is a thrill to own and fly, with an easy assembly process thanks to its bolt together, no glue ARF design. Specifically designed for smooth and powerful electric power, the VMAR Kitfox is a true scale STOL machine, transforming rugged terrain into functional runways, and rewarding the pilot at hand with epic scale flight that you'll never want to end.

Fun kit! I haven’t decided to go electric or glow yet but I have pre assembled it and it’s about what I expected. There was some transfer of the plastic wrap on the surface of the cowl and glass windows that is very difficult to get buffed off. The cowl stripes don’t line up and will need airbrushed. The tail is a little off but pulled in by the aluminum struts. Fitting required back there. All issues aside I think it’s a good value and I really Do like the airplane. I bet it flies great and it’s FUN! I wish the instructions were better and with more information. I am leaning toward electric but it is a difficult decision for me
I was an EAA Ultralight Flight Instructor at 7R9 94-04. We had a few of these Kitfoxes come to or fly-ins and I love the way they fly. I'm flying models now so when I saw this beauty I had to have it. Great price, and great service, TY!
Instructions are a bit vague for a novice. However, with a little care you will end up with a nice looking plane. I did have some damage to my kit but it was taken care of immediately. The hardware that was packaged with various parts didn’t always go with those parts so be careful. Over all I think I would buy another one of their kits. They seem to be a good value.
This semi-scale has great scale features, and I have it nearly complete and ready to fly. I've been posting a couple small updates on YouTube. Customer service has been great as well. I've added scale landing gear, inflatable tires, and 3d printed the scale controls in the cockpit.
I have been assembling the pieces necessary to complete the air craft, and I am impressed. All the parts are high quality and the completed plane should fly well.
Overall this is a pretty good Kitfox kit and the Heli Direct customer service was great answering some questions that I had. There were several missing pieces of hardware and a few broken aileron hinges so had to repair those and purchase some missing bolts. Be prepared to do some of your own engineering to improve the model. For example, the main wing struts that came with the kit were very cheap and flimsy and the bolts that came with it were too short. I ended up replacing with some small aluminum tubing which turned out great. Overall a good kit but price should be less due to the poor QA and some design flaws. At a cheaper price point, this would be a no brainer as making your own changes and improvements is part of the fun.
