HobbyPlus Steel U-Joint Drive Shaft Set for CR18P EVO/ EVO PRO (2pcs)
These are a round female end, not the “D” style that mates to the 2 speed trans. These fit loose and I suspect will be shearing off the set screws from the screws taking all the force instead of a properly mated shaft.
Rear plastic shaft broke out crawling in colder weather. Easy replacement with perfect fit, added strength and a little more weight down low in chassis. Priceless!
HobbyPlus Steel U-Joint Drive Shaft Set for CR18P EVO/ EVO PRO (2pcs)
Broke after 2nd use.
Stock drive shafts break most of the time. Metal shafts tend to last long time!
A must upgrade
One crawling session and the pin in the driveline broke. Disappointing as they look great and appear strong but let down by a design fault in a light weight pin that snapped. I was not on a difficult section and the wheels were not bound or caught on anything. I would look at some alternative options like driveshafts from scx24 that will work. I will say I have the version of this driveshaft on my Arktos and its been very reliable so its possible it was just a bad part.
I definitely love these upgraded parts that I ordered.
These were pretty easy to install. A brushless motor will snap plastic drive-shafts, and this replacement should make sure that doesn't happen again.
The drive shaft seems to be very well made. looks real nice and smooth movement.
