After a spectacular crash of my FW200 in manual 3D mode, my motor wasn’t working correctly. Replacing the motor is relatively straightforward and requires just the removal of the mainshaft and rotor head which you can leave all connected together as one piece. Then you just need to remove three hex bolts and the motor is free after unplugging it from the ESC. Overall, the motor is smooth, quiet, and runs cool on the FW200. It also seems to have plenty of power for this particular helicopter. I’ve seen some pictures that show that the early motors lacked quality control in their construction, but mine appear to be fine.
