Description

New XGuard Magnetic RC Helicopter Front Canopy Mounts. Makes any canopy easy to install and uninstall. Use in the front of the canopy. Use locking type in the back of the canopy. Do not use these in the back of the canopy.

The strength of the mount comes from the fact that a steel screw goes through the whole system both on the frame side and on the canopy side so you get the rigidity and strength of steel and the convenience and weight savings of the plastic. Here’s an exploded view of how the system works and how it’s attached to the helicopter.

Notice that the set includes both a regular plain nut and a nylon locknut. The locknut is for the cases where the post is installed in a simple 3mm hole in the frame. You use the locknut to secure the other side. The plain nut is for cases where you need to use a thin nut because it’s encase inside a larger carbon hole for those cases when an sacrificial tab is used. You’re suppose to install the thin nut with red Loctite and if needed file the extra threads off so it fits inside the hole provided to hide a screw head.

In the case where you’re screwing the post into an existing thread such as into a frame spacer you won’t have a need for either of the two bottom nuts. Use blue Loctite in that case.

Note: The rubber grommet is the one that comes with the canopy and it’s not included with the post since they all differ per brand.
