Note : If you have old version of Evo, feel free to use "hot glue" method that Mikado suggest, with the newer version, you just need a piece of double side tape as shown in photos to alignment the USB Type C connector.

I have had three EVO flight controller stock plastic cases damaged after relatively small crashes. Basically, one or two of the four plastic tabs that retain the top plastic lid to the bottom plastic base tend to break rather easily. Replacement plastic cases for the EVO flight controllers currently (Aug 2024) list for $19.00. This nicely designed aluminum case is much more robust than the EVO flight controller rather flimsy stock plastic case.
It is my understanding that the original version of this aluminum case that came WITHOUT the 3D printed TPU insert left the EVO flight controller board rattling within this case due to inadequate loose fit. That is not the reality any more. The 3D printed insert is made of flexible TPU, and it holds the EVO board tightly in place without crushing it. Once the 3 retaining bolts that hold the top lid to the bottom base are tightened, the EVO board is tightly fitted within this aluminum case without any play or rattling.
I am not sure if I would recommend "preemptively" replacing an undamaged EVO flight controller stock plastic case with this aluminum case upgrade, but I do strongly recommend replacing an already damaged EVO flight controller plastic case with this Steam RC aluminum case instead of replacing with another "flimsy" plastic case, especially since this much better aluminum case lists for only $6.00 more than the flimsy plastic case.
