Built for the Spirit of Rally Raid
Rally raid is one of the ultimate tests of off-road performance. Speed alone isn't enough. A successful rally raid vehicle must combine suspension performance, ground clearance, drivetrain durability, stability, recovery capability, and the ability to adapt as the terrain changes beneath it.
The HobbyPlus DKR-4 FORTIS brings that same philosophy to RC.
Designed as a highly detailed 1/18-scale 4WD Rally Raid Truck, the Dakar-4 blends authentic scale styling with a purpose-built off-road chassis engineered to be driven across dirt, gravel, sand, trails, and rough terrain.
This isn't simply a scale body sitting on a conventional RC platform. From its portal axles and long-travel suspension to its functional recovery winch, 2-speed transmission, twin spare tires, accessible rear equipment bay, and detailed rally bodywork, the HobbyPlus FORTIS was developed to capture both the look and function of a full-size rally raid machine.
Purpose-Built Rally Raid Chassis
Underneath the detailed body is a capable 4WD chassis designed for mixed-terrain driving.
The DKR-4 features long-travel suspension paired with completely sealed front and rear solid portal axles. The portal design provides additional ground clearance for uneven terrain while retaining the solid-axle architecture expected from a rugged scale off-road truck.
Factory-installed front and rear anti-roll bars help control chassis movement and body roll, particularly when transitioning from slower technical terrain into faster rally-style driving.
The result is a platform designed to balance articulation, stability, ground clearance, and higher-speed control.
Available in Brushed & Brushless Versions
The HobbyPlus DKR-4 FORTIS is available in both Brushed RTR and Brushless RTR (BLS) versions.
Brushed RTR

Built to Drive. Detailed Enough to Display.
Scale RC vehicles often force enthusiasts to choose between two directions:
A highly detailed truck that looks great but sacrifices capability—
or a high-performance chassis that loses much of the realism of the vehicle it's trying to represent.
The DKR-4 FORTIS takes a different approach.
Portal axles, long-travel suspension, anti-roll bars, metal drivetrain components, a 2-speed gearbox, functional recovery equipment, and a capable 4WD chassis give it the hardware needed to explore.
At the same time, the ABS hard body, detailed cockpit, functional rear bodywork, twin spare tires, lighting system, tilting cab, rear framework, and rally-inspired detailing create the visual presence expected from a premium scale RC truck.
Whether you're building a backyard rally stage, exploring local trails, running across gravel and dirt, or simply adding something different to your scale RC collection, the FORTIS brings a distinctive new experience to the 1/18 category.
Scale Presence. Rally Raid Capability. Built to Explore.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the HobbyPlus DKR-4 FORTIS a crawler or a rally truck?
The DKR-4 FORTIS is a 1/18-scale 4WD rally truck designed for mixed-terrain driving. Its long-travel suspension and rally-inspired setup make it suitable for dirt, gravel, sand, trails, rough ground, and backyard rally courses. It is not designed as a dedicated low-speed rock crawler.
Is the HobbyPlus DKR-4 FORTIS four-wheel drive?
Yes. The DKR-4 FORTIS uses a four-wheel-drive system with locked front and rear axles for dependable traction across loose and uneven surfaces.
What is the difference between the brushed and brushless versions?
Both versions share the DKR-4 platform and its major scale features. The brushed version uses a .280-size 37-turn brushed motor with a FlySky ESC/receiver combination. The brushless version is equipped with a Hobbywing inrunner brushless power system for stronger performance.
Does the DKR-4 FORTIS have a two-speed transmission?
Yes. The DKR-4 FORTIS features a remote-operated two-speed transmission with neutral. Low gear provides greater control over slower or more technical sections, while high gear is better suited to open terrain and rally-style driving.
Can the transmission and winch be controlled from the transmitter?
Yes. The included FlySky six-channel transmitter operates the truck’s driving functions and additional features, including remote transmission shifting and the functional front recovery winch.
What suspension and drivetrain features does the DKR-4 FORTIS include?
The truck features long-travel suspension, oil-filled threaded shocks, preinstalled sway bars, CNC aluminum chassis rails, and steel ball studs. Its heavy-duty drivetrain includes full metal gearing, metal axles and outdrives, dogbones, and CV-style driveshafts.
Is the body easy to open for battery access and maintenance?
Yes. The cab tilts to provide easier access to the electronics and interior. Functional gullwing rear panels open to provide access to the battery and ESC/receiver area.
Are the rear spare tires functional?
Yes. The two rear-mounted spares are full-size tires rather than molded decorative details. They also contribute to the truck’s realistic desert rally appearance.
What wheels, tires, colors, and accessories are included?
The DKR-4 FORTIS comes with rally-inspired 68 mm all-terrain tires on 1.3-inch wheels with 7 mm hexes. Both the brushed and brushless models are available in White and Red and include a FlySky six-channel transmitter, 2S LiPo battery, and USB charger.
